Vibration Management and Monitoring

Scope

During construction phase works, EGA set up air quality and vibration monitoring stations within the park, varying the locations based on the locations of where potential airborne particulate and vibration generating activities were taking place.

Real time data collection ensured any exceedances were addressed immediately using controls / strategies outlined within the associated management plans, with weekly reporting uploaded to a portal that could be accessed by the project and Council teams, as well as concerned residents / neighbours.

Outcomes

The following outcomes were achieved through careful planning and implementation of the air quality and vibration management plans and monitoring activities:

  • Ongoing monitoring assisted the project team with minimise dust and vibration generation, with zero exceedances of the adopted site assessment criteria observed over the course of the construction phase scope;
  • Real time data ensured residents had access to data and reporting mitigating concerns; and
  • The reduction in complaints and stop-works associated with reviews of controls and site conditions ensured timely delivery on the construction phase scope.
